We have moved in!

Here they are. I really wanted to get the place finished before I posted
but there was just no way that was going to happen. We had 2 more
refrigerators delivered today that are not in these photos
as well as a freezer but I will post them later.
We still have some unpacking to do as you can
see but we are getting there! These photos
were also taken at night so again not my best.

You can click on them to enlarge for more detail
and thanks for checking out our new place.
We are VERY proud of it.

These are our signs. We have 2 of them and they are hand
painted on both sides. They were done by BIG EASY SIGNS from
Hot Springs and were worth every penny. They go very well with the
look of the old grocery store. I will post some photos of the signs from the
outside as soon as we get the leaves cleaned up.
I love oak trees and the shade they provide in the
summer but man they create a lot of trash in the fall.

These are the shutters that Jeremy hung so the public
can't see the domestic violence happenning inside...

Here you are looking towards the front door from the back door.

Bathroom sink, not too exciting.
New shower and clean toilet.

I really think that the bathroom is quite a magnificent
improvement.

This is the hand sink and utility sink in the hot kitchen.
Dish machine room is to the left.

This is looking into the hot kitchen through the dish machine room.

this one has really bad lighting....sorry but it is looking into the
hot kitchen from the 3 compartment sink area.
This view is looking to the left when you walk in the front door.
That door in the back with the dots goes to the back yard/dumpster.
For those of you who have seen it, it strangely resembles the old kitchen!

Here you are looking dead center when you walk on the front door.

This is the cold/baking kitchen looking to the right
from the ront door. That empty space is where the vent hood
from the old kitchen will be with a convection oven. I might
actually be able to bake things.

Progress Update

We have gotten the 3 compartment and hand sinks totally installed.  The range and existing vent hood will be working tomorrow.  I am waiting for the new utility sink to arrive and get hooked up and the dish machine is up and running as well.  Tomorrow morning the movers will be here at
8 a.m. to move all the tables, refrigerators, pots and pans, desks.  Basically everything that is left.  We will move odds and ends throughout the weekend but it looks as if the place will be ready to go to start back to work next week.  I am keeping my fingers crossed.  I have not had a chance to take any photos yet but I will soon.  The hot water heater died so looks like we get to replace that too.  Oh well, better now while the plumbers are at our beck and call.  Check back for updates!

ITS MOVING DAY!!!!!!

The plumbers have arrived to begin moving the kitchen equipment, sinks, tables, etc... down to the new kitchen. I am headed in there now to start taking pictures. Wish us luck. This is a very exciting and scary time for us.

New Fence

View of the new fence from the side.

View of the new fence from the back porch.
It is not completed in this photo but this was taken yesterday
and they finished today. It makes a world of difference.
Next up, landscaping.

A Few New Details

The view from the back door.
You can see the super shiny new front door.
Which looks great I might add.

Our dishwasher. This might be our new favorite piece
of equipment. We rent it and hope that it can make all
of our dishwashing dreams come true
We covered the wall behind the existing vent hood with
stailness steel. This might have been one of the biggest
improvements of all.

If you will please notice....the beloved "aquarium"
has been updated with a fancy new dry erase board.
Might possibly be a bigger improvement than the stainless backsplash

Our new signs.
These were hand painted by a man from Hot Springs.
They are FANTASTIC! We really think that they
will give the building great charm. Oh, and they are painted
with our new logo which I am unveiling now, surprise!

Progress Update

I have been meaning to post new photos and info for weeks now and I just can't believe that it has been weeks since my last post. Time flies faster and faster every day. We have been working a regular load while trying to get this kitchen moved. I do believe that this is why things are taking so long. I have gotten some great new photos of events that we have done and need to post those as well. We are going to put the final coat of polyurethane on the floors tomorrow and then start moving things in later in the week. Check back soon, I know that photos are more fun than words!

More Food, Finally

Fresh Rhubarb Pie.
Tart and Delicious, one of my favorites!

Bourbon Pecan Pie
Croquembouche
Thses were a grooms cake that we made for some
of our really good friends. They are hollow
towers made from filled cream puffs and "glued"
together with caramelized sugar.
SOOOO fun to make!

Our first wedding cake!

The theme of this cake was a "champagne toast".

The bubbles are cascading up the cake like they do in a champagne

flute and are coming out of the top. This was the brides creation

I just followed her requests and I loved it!!!

Georgia vs Vanderbilt cookies

I wish I had taken a picture of them not sitting on the

messy sheet tray but oh well you get the idea.

More Christening Cookies

These are chocolate because the client was
using an invitation that was pink and brown.
The chocolate cookies are really tasty.

Long Time, No Post

John and Alex painting the outside. We went with the same
exact color because we liked it and they did and excellent
job. With the new white trim on the windows and the
awning having a fresh (and straight!) paint job it really
looks great. Thanks John and Alex!!

These pictures really don't even show how good it
look inside. We really love the peeled pistachio color.
It makes the room really bright and happy.

We are much farther along than this even. These photos

were taken over a week ago. I will try to be more on

top of my posts but we are just busy busy!!

New Floors

We "lovingly" refer to this as the aquarium.
Can't wait for it to go but it seem like it will
be one of the last things to go.

New floors....horray!
The new tileboard makes the walls look new.
We have decided to go with the color on the
left. It is called "peeled pistachio", the white
we chose is called "cream pie". Coincidentally
both have food names, such fun!!

Don't you just love the "cheesey" faux wood.

We sure do.

Just in case you were hungry!
