Remodel Update

The sub-floors are finished and ready for the new floors.
The plumbing is being inspected Tuesday!
We are on a roll and hope to stay that way.

The new lighting really brightens the place up!!

The shower we so desperately hoped we would get!

Our one step back. Our nemesis, the mailbox, was the culprit
of heartache again. The wind caught the front door and blew it
into the mailbox and it shattered. Who would have thought a
dinky mailbox could cause so many problems. Oh well, if this is
thw worst thing to happen we are in great shape!

Strawberries and Candy Diaper Pins

Strawberries with Mascarpone Mousse

Cutest Cookies EVER!

Of course these, my favorites of all time, pictures turned out blurry. Oh well, you can still see how cute these were. Again, I wish it had been my idea. Monogrammed peanut cookies for a new born "peanut".

Saturday Night's Dinner

Bacon wrapped pork tenderloin.
Jeremy has really perfected this one.

Parmesan roasted Arkansas tomatoes.
These are some of the last tomatoes of the
season and they were still great!

This is a new dessert for us:

Strawberry Shortcake in Mason Jars

We thought they turned out great.

Poker Night Cookies

These were a lot of fun to make!!
The spades and clubs are chocolate. The sprinkles did
such a good job of making them look black.
Black is usually a really hard color for me to achieve.

Remodel Update

Our electrition has started installing the new fixtures and the plumbers are working under the buliding so we can't really see their progress this week. Hopefully things will speed up next week!!

This is where the rotted floor was.
We are going to cover the entire floor with
this plyboard before we install the new floors.

Cookies and Cupcakes

Chocolate Crinkles and Lemon Raspberry Thumbprints
Lemon Curd Filled Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream
Chocolate Cupcakes with Fudge Frosting
Inside of the lemon cupcake, it is hard to see the curd.
The lighting is the photo is not good but you get the idea.

This photo shows the filling better. This one is filled

with vanilla buttercream.

More Cookies

These are starfish wearing wedding/engagement rings.
They were purchased for a book club get together that will
also be a surprise wedding shower. The book this week invloves
blue starfish in some way and the rings are for the shower.
This was such a cute idea, I wish I had thought of it myself.

Cookies and Petit Fours

Here are some photos of the sweets we have been working on this morning. On another note, our new mailbox was vandalized and will have to be replaced. It makes me sad and I hope that it was not our first taste of the neighborhood rejecting us. The positive aspect about it is I will get a second chance to put the numbers on straight!!

Temporary Sign

Here is our temporary sign. We wanted passers-by to know what was moving in. You can click on the photo to get a closer look. Hopefully we will have more to report next week. We are working in the kitchen this weekend on some fun cookies and petit fours. Check back for photos.

Tear out is done

Our new mailbox that I added today, no comments on
the crooked numbers. It makes me crazy but they are
stuck for good. I already tried to move them, oh well.

This is where that nasty storage loft was.

It seems so much larger now that the ceiling isn't so low.

Meet Lucky

Here is Lucky, our demolition man, getting it done!
This room will have the automatic dishwasher.
We opened up that doorway today.
This is where those cabinents were and this
is where we plan to put our 3 compartment sink.
It really looks so much bigger without those little walls.

Maraca Sugar Cookies

Sombrero Sugar Cookies

I think these are some of my favorites! So
bright and colorful.

Thanks for all of your wonderful comments!!
I just figured out how to post them this morning.

Half of the front deck is GONE!

Here we go. Half of the deck was removed today. We are going to relocate the ramp to the back door. The decision to remove the deck was just made recently. We discovered that the original steps were under the deck, that they were in great shape, and that they are curved which looks really cool (once we clean up all the leaves that have been there for years I'm sure). Jeremy and I are pulling up the carpet on Sunday. Wish us luck!
